Short bio (English)

Martin Rombouts (b. 1992, Rotterdam) is a writer, theatre maker and audio fiction director based in Utrecht. He is the author of the novel Boek 1 (Das Mag, 2025), which received a five-star review in NRC. He directed the fiction podcast En ze noemden me… Dientje!, winner of a Dutch Podcast Award in 2024, and wrote the lyrics to Licht, the 2025 AVROTROS Christmas carol, premiered by the Netherlands Radio Choir. In 2023 he won the twenty-first season of the Dutch television quiz De Slimste Mens. He performs at festivals including Lowlands, Oerol, Noorderzon and Poetry International, and is a member of the literary boy band BOYBAND.

Martin Rombouts (Rotterdam, 1992) is schrijver, theatermaker en regisseur van audiofictie. Hij schreef de roman Boek 1 (Das Mag, 2025), die vijf ballen kreeg in NRC, regisseerde de bekroonde fictiepodcast En ze noemden me… Dientje! en schreef de tekst van Licht, het AVROTROS Kerstlied 2025. In 2023 won hij De Slimste Mens. Hij woont in Utrecht.
